Wagon Ride with Porter Magoo

After we got home from Jack's Birthday party the Babe demanded to see her boyfriend, Porter. Lucky for the Babe, Kelly took her and Porter for a ride around the block.

Jack's Birthday Partay

Last Sunday we went to one of Izzy's friends, Jack's 2nd birthday party. It was at Trolley Barn Park and the Babe had lots of fun playing with all of her friends.

One of the many trips to the water fountain:

Izzy monopolized the fire truck:

Then we played with bubbles:

Time for a rest on the bench:

Ok, ready for more playtime!

Do we HAVE to go home?

Tagged

We got this idea from our friend's blog.

1. Choose the 4th folder where you store your pictures on your computer. No cheating {cropping, editing, etc.}!

2. Select the 4th picture in the folder.

3. Explain the picture.

We went to visit our dear friends Momo and Neal in Austin in September of 2006. Ohio State was playing UT during that weekend so Bailey, the dog, decided to not take sides.

The Big Day

The birthday decorations were ready, the cupcakes made, and the Babe was sleeping soundly. I went in to wake her up this morning and quietly whispered in her ear, "Izzy, guess what today is? She immediately popped up and said, "MY BIRTHDAY!!!!"

The decorations:

The Babe came home from school with an extra special hairdo today--must've been the birthday hairdo fairy who did it:

So Grown Up
The Babe turned 2 and decided it's time for her to read "big girl books." She started with The Girl's Guide to Hunting and Fishing today:

On Saturday we went to Sea World to start the Babe's birthday celebration. She loved the Shark Encounter the best:

Two things the Babe does now are her "side look" and "Kung Fu Panda":

One more day...

...til the Babe turns the big T-W-O. (Never mind that for the last 4 months she's been saying "Two!" very enthusiastically when asked how old she is.)

This morning I asked Izzy, "Guess what tomorrow is?" And without any hesitation she said, "My birthday!!" I guess that answers our question about whether she knows that tomorrow is her birthday!

Then as we were getting into the car to go to school, she looked at my back left pant pocket and said, "Mommy, you lost a button!" It might seem like a trivial thing, but I am constantly amazed at the words/phrases/expressions that she has picked up in the last month.

More reflection tomorrow about this big occasion.
