You can't beat classic toys like Mr Potato Head, can you? We introduced the Babe to the Potato Head family over the weekend and she can't get enough of them. She has been taking one of them (not the huge one, thank goodness) to bed w/her the past few nights.
(Oh, and that "belt" around Izzy's waist is Gumbo's collar. Does that count as couture?)

One thing we've realized with the arrival of Ethan is that we've forgotten a lot of the specifics from Izzy's early days and weeks (like when she started holding her head up, when she tried to roll over, etc). I have a feeling she probably did these things just as early as E-man is doing them, and we were probably just as amazed then as we are now. :) But two things we know for sure about E-man:

1) He is a little chunker
and
2) He is strong

Pool Time!

On Saturday, the Babe attended her first birthday pool party. Jenna, our friends' daughter, was turning 3 and had her party at their awesome neighborhood pool. The Babe had a great time swimming, eating cake, and watching the destruction of the pinata.

What do you mean it's a "seasonal item"?

We set out yesterday to find the Babe a kite. We figured that would be a simple task in a place like San Diego...where there aren't really "seasons" in the traditional sense. Well, we were wrong! We tried 4 places and none of them had kites. Apparently the only place to find a kite right now is at the kite store. So, instead we ended up getting the Babe a little scooter to ride around on and Daddy a big styrofoam airplane to throw around the park.

Pool Playdate with Ecco & Gray

In an attempt to escape the heat, we met Izzy's friend Ecco at the pool for a fun dinner-pool-playdate.
