July 2013 - Izzy's Camps, Ethan's 4th bday!

Izzy had a summer full of all kinds of camps: Splash swim camp, Dance camp, Art camp at the New Children's Museum, Japanese Friendship Garden camp, Cookin' Up Culture camp at Museum of Man, Bubbles and Balloons, Challengers, etc. So many camps! So much fun! At the Museum of Man camp, she learned how to make several things, one of which was guacamole. She made it for us at home and it was delicious!

Ethan turned FOUR on July 27th! Hard to believe how fast our little Meatball / Bubby-bubs is growing up! He had a joint bday bash with his friend Will at an awesome place called Funbelievable.

On his actual birthday he ran through the bday streamers like usual, opened awesome gifts from family, and then chose to go to the carousel and train near the zoo. He requested a strawberry cake, which we made together that afternoon. And we watched A Monster in Paris together. All in all, a great bday!

The next day, Daddy did the Solana Beach Tri (but as a duathlon), and he did great!

May 2013 - Trip to DC!

In May, we took a wonderful trip to DC to visit Koko (who moved there in February), the Johnson Browns, the Limarzis, the Raw Oates (who drove down from Iowa), and Whit. It was the usual fun of cooking, eating, drinking, laughing, visiting fun DC sights, laughing some more, eating, drinking. Unfortunately we also experienced some lice while there (Izzy), but thanks to our wonderful friends Kristen and Sarah, we got it under control. Here are some highlights:
