Marc spent quite a bit of time up on the roof a few weeks ago, sealing up the leaks (or what we hope are the leaks :)) and painting it white. (We heard about it before Obama made the announcement though, just for the record!) It has made a noticeable difference in the house temperature so all of Marc's hard work is paying off already! Thanks babe!

Can't wait to see it on Google Earth...

I haven't heard about this! Wow. What is your roof made of?!
Our roof is basically sheets of roofing material that are rolled onto the roof. They overlap and are sealed together with roofing tar. A fairly common roof here in SD if your roof is flat. If you use an elastomeric white roof paint, it not only seals leaks, but also reflects up to 85% of UV rays (at least that's the pitch). So far so good on the cooling of the house, but we'll have to wait for some rain to see if the leaks are gone.
