The Babe Turns Six!

I feel like I say the same thing every year when it's time to write a birthday post for our little girl -- I can't believe how fast time is flying, and I definitely can't believe we have a six year old now! I can still vividly remember being in the Daily Scoop on the evening of February 2, 2007, getting ice cream, as the labor pains started. Six years later and we are still enjoying every moment with our Izzy -- who is already outgrowing "Izzy" and goes by Isobel at school. This year has been a big one, with graduating from pre-school and starting kindergarten, meeting new friends and getting into the routine of homework, new school activities, learning so much with every day. We love watching Iz grow and learn, not only about new subjects at school but about herself. Here's to another year of discovery, and may it be a fun one!

Izzy decided that she wanted to celebrate her birthday by doing something art-related, so we had her party at our friends' Art Studio, Pachis Art Studio for Kids and the theme was based on one of Izzy's favorite books, The Knight at Dawn (from The Magic Tree House series). We gave the book out as a favor, and it was Izzy's idea to make a bookmark for each friend, which we laminated so it would last a long time. The kids painted a castle with help from Ms Juliana, and it was impressive to see their finished pieces!

And, since Koko was about to embark on her cross-country trip from L.A. to D.C. (where she will now be working), we were lucky enough to have her and Momo in town for Izzy's party and actual birthday. That, Izzy said, was the best present of all.
