The Babe meets more family

Over Memorial Day weekend we were thrilled to have a visit from Mama's uncle, "Tao-Tao," T'aunt Carlea, and cousin Katey. The Babe got lots of love and attention and in return gave her relatives lots of smiles. We went to the beach together, went out to eat (though Izzy's menu is always the same these days :)), and enjoyed a lot of good cooking and conversation at home. We wish everyone didn't live so far away b/c it's so much fun to see family!!

Holy Zucchini

and green beans too! We planted a small garden here on the farm sometime in March and are now able to pick some of the veggies. Our zucchini and green beans have grown very well and soon we'll be able to pick grape tomatoes, eggplant, and cucumbers.

The Babe's first Cubs game

Last night the Babe experienced her first baseball game, and of course it had to be a Cubs game! Our friend Cathleen gave Izzy the cutest Cubs onesie, so she got dressed up for a night out at PETCO Park. Despite a cough and the Cubs losing to the Padres, Izzy had a great time soaking in all of the bright lights and noise.

Last weekend it was nice and warm - the perfect chance for Izzy to wear the muumuu dress that her Momo got her in Hawaii. She would fit right in in Hawaii!

Mama goes back to work

It was a rough day on the farm yesterday as I (Mama) had to return to work for the first time in over 3 months. Fortunately I'll be working from home mostly and will only have to go into the office two mornings a week. Izzy will spend 4-5 hours a day at daycare, which is just around the corner from us. On my first day back I worked from home in the morning with the Babe by my side, then I dropped her off at daycare (Mary's house) for the afternoon -- see the photos below. Daddy picked her up after work and Mary said that Izzy was a very good girl and only cried a little after I left. It was probably harder for Mama than it was for Izzy!

Izzy goes swimming

Well, kinda... Today the Babe got to hang out with her friends Ecco, Jack, Lucca, Koehn, and Jacob at another fun yoga mamas playdate. This time we went to Marni's house in Coronado and the babies all got to take a dip in the spa. Izzy put her new swimsuit on and loved floating around and just hanging out in the water -- she is an Aquarius after all!
