Heathen No More

Over Labor Day weekend, the family packed up and drove out to Scottsdale, Arizona for cousin Christian's baptism. Dad's side of the family was all there to celebrate and hang out with the Babe and Gumbo.





It's way too hot in Arizona so the Babe headed to the pool with her Tita Lisa.

Two New Loves...Aunt Koko & Avocados

The Babe definitely takes after her Aunt Koko when it comes to her love of avocados! So far, out of pears, apples, prunes, rice and oatmeal cereal, avocados are by far her favorite. Who can blame her...she's a California girl, after all!

Dad's still learning the trick of getting the food IN Izzy's mouth. :)


We got to go to the last Bird Park concert of the Summer with Aunt Koko, Chris & Danielle and a bunch of other neighbors and it was a lot of fun!

Sunday afternoon in Balboa Park

When Momo and Ojiichan were here visiting, we met up with some good family friends, Ed & Paulette, in Balboa Park. It was a beautiful Sunday afternoon and the Babe enjoyed lunch at Waters Cafe and a nice stroll around the park afterwards.

Momo and Ojiichan made a combo visit from Chicago to San Diego to see Koko and Izzy. The Babe had lots of fun getting so much attention, and she pulled a few new tricks out of her bag too! She's sitting up really well now, and she's started making the "ma-ma-ma" sound (although her daddy still refuses to believe that it's the same as "mama"...we'll need video evidence to support it). She also has two bottom teeth, which we'll try to get a picture of - if she'll let us. :)

After six months of stories and letters from her Aunt Koko, the Babe finally got to meet her in person on August 7th. We'll post a video from their first meeting soon, but for now here are a few pics of the Babe with her aunt.

The Babe threw what may have been a world record in binky toss today. I have documented the throw in these pictures and will submit them later today. I'm afraid the throw will be disqualified b/c it was wind aided (the ceiling fan was on). Of course with her newfound fame, the Babe will have to deal with the papparazzi.
